Roadhouse Blues News – New Releases including Van Morrison and more upcoming albums!

2023 Recording Out now:

Van Morrison – Accentuate the Positive

At 78, Van Morrison has earned the right to record and play whatever the heck he pleases. On Accentuate The Positive, he impressively covers 18 tunes with his energetic R&B style. Leaving behind the negativity of his Covid years recordings, he applies the VM touch to classics like Shake Rattle And Roll, Lucille, & Shakin’ All Over!! Oh yeah!

Simon Kinny-Lewis – Deep Cut

It’s been two years since Australia’s Simon Kinny-Lewis’ last album, King Biscuit. The new recording Deep Cut is just Simon and his guitar with a bit of harmonica by Andy Just. It’s sparse…personal…and a fabulous blues listen!

Al Basile – B’s Time

The new Al Basile B’s Time recording is a 25 year retrospective of his recordings on Sweetspot Records. Al is an incredible cornet player as well as a gifted poet and songwriter. If you aren’t familiar with this Rhode Island based artist that I have reviewed several times over the years, this is your chance to hear some of his personal favorites from the archives. What a treat!!

Black Pumas – Chronicles of a Diamond

This Austin based duo made their debut in 2019 with the album Black Pumas and received seven Grammy awards for their effort! The new recording, Chronicles of Diamonds, is a hybrid of R&B, Soul and Pop with a symphonic and psychedelic vibe! It’s a cool sound….give it a listen!!
