New albums released during June 2025

Steve Marriner – Hear My Heart [Cordova Bay Records]

  • Steve Marriner is a great Canadian artist who is a fantastic harmonica player as well being a multi instrumentalist and soulful singer.

Dave Specter – Live At Space [Delmark Records]

Dave Specter - Great new Blues Releases for June 2025
  • A member of Chicago’s Blues Hall of Fame, Dave Specter has been kickin’ out great blues jams for over 35 years. The new Live At Space recording is nice and chill!

The Doobie Brothers – Walk That Road [Rhino Records]

  • Michael McDonald and company still produce great relaxing music that I enjoy. Though not truly the blues, the album tracks work well during my Roadhouse Blues shows.

North Mississippi Allstars – Still Shakin’ [New West Records]

  • Think a mix of the Grateful Dead and the Hill Country Blues and you have the North Mississippi Allstars in a nutshell.

The Alexis P. Suter Band – Stay High [Nola Blues Records]

Alexis P Suter Great new Blues Releases for June 2025
  • Alexis P. Suter has the deepest female voice that I have ever heard! The new recording Stay High is some great contemporary blues…oh yeah.

Joanne Shaw Taylor – Black & Gold [Journeyman Records]

  • Joanne Shaw Taylor released most of the tracks on the new album Black & Gold as singles over the last six months so the album release itself was a bit anti-climatic for me. BUT if you haven’t heard the tracks…you are in for a treat!

Van Morrison – Remembering Now [Exile Productions]

  • Possibly his best recording since the 1970’s!!

Crow Black Chicken – Ghost Dance

  • Irish blues rock with hints of Gov’t Mule and just a tinge of Led Zeppelin!

D.K. Harrell – Talkin’ Heavy [Alligator Records]

  • D.K. Harrell’s latest album Talkin’ Heavy takes me back to the heydays of Albert Collins and Luther Allison. The recording is just some damn fine blues!!

Robert Randolph – Preacher Kids [Sun Label Group]

  • Robert Randolph is a pedal steel guitar virtuoso who is amazing to watch as he plays the instrument. His music is a joyful mix of blues, funk, soul, rock and gospel. Ya gonna move and groove as ya listen…I promise.

Durand Jones & The Indications – Flower [Dead Oceans Label]

  • The new album by Durand Jones & the Indicators is some chill soul and funk that is perfect for relaxing at the end of a hectic day.

Doug MacLeod – Between Somewhere and Goodbye [Reference Recordings]

Doug Macleod Great new Blues Releases for June 2025
  • Doug MacLeod is one of the greatest acoustic guitar players of his generation with a number of Blues Music Awards to his credit. The new recording is simply fabulous!!
